Kinda....
I used a Firestorm 10 HT to make my Modified. There is a width and wheelbase rule I had to conquer by shortening the A-Arms 1/2". The arms are a bit more flexy now, but it seems to keep them from breaking. I used Blitz wheel hexes in the rear and plastic MT2 wheel adapters with the round nubs cut off in the front. You can only use setback knuckles, not the inline ones due to interference between the front wheels and steering ballcups. For wheels I used Cyber 10B's with Suburb fronts and Holeshot rears. I use a Castle Sidewinder 5700KV setup, 18t/87t. The springs are Associated Truck reds in the rear and Firestorm whites in the front. 45 wt oil in rear and 30 wt in the front. I used a McAllister IMCA body, but have a Kipps EDM in the works. Most Dirt tracks have wheelbase and width rules to keep you from using the Blitz chassis, but with the increase of SC trucks, most tracks are introducing an SC class to their ranks. BTW, HPI's in Circletrack racing are extremely rare. Here in the midwest (Kansas Dirt Oval Championships) I'm the only guy with an HPI in Modifieds and one of only three in SC. Wouldn't be surprised if the RC Driver magazine has a pic or two of my cars in the December issue's coverage of the KDOC for sheer uniqueness of the HPI's in the races. |
